Traditionally, strongly fermented black teas of India, Sri Lanka, China are well-known, but such Formosan teas are almost impossible to meet. The tradition of black tea manufacturing in Taiwan has existed for many years. Basically, these Taiwanese black teas are drunk in Japan and in Britain, where they especially estimated for their delicacy and exquisite flavour.

Its infusion is sweet without any note of astringency, it has soft and extended aftertaste. Black Taiwanese teas are virtually unknown in the Occidental, where its own long-standing tradition of tea drinking, based just on the black (red named by Chinese) varieties, has developed. “Formosa Taiwan Tea” respectfully allows you to estimate the beauty of black teas from one of the famous world tea producer. On the island, such kinds of tea are manufactured more than a century. Traditionally, they are bought by Japan, where Taiwanese black tea has been drunk in imperial House, and by Britain. In their quality, Taiwanese black teas are not similar to Chinese, or to Ceylonese, or Indian, which are well known. Formosan black teas have their own special beauty. They keep the freshness and lightness of a slightly oxidized tea and they gathered the richness and brightness of black tea. Taiwanese black teas have the amazing sweetness of infusion and do not have any bitterness and astringency.
Jin Xuan Black is a very unusual tea. It is manufactured from the raw materials, conventional for oolongs. Quite young and gentle leafs are picked, sometimes, a leaf with a bud, covered with white fluff. The manufacturing of the raw is rather delicate. During this process the tea has been wrinkled and baked to increase the oxidation level and to reveal the bouquet of flavour.
The tea shows a peculiar play. It has honey and muscatel tones of the black tea mixed with floral and fruity tones of oolongs. It has a long-lasting strong aftertaste, typical for oolongs. Jin Xuan Black tea will be fine when accompanied by a dessert, as well as a separate entertaining.
To make this tea, take its normal amount and fill with boiling water of 80-90°C. You will be pleasantly surprised by the sweetness of its taste and by the scent of fresh flowers and spring verdure, mixed with honey tones and spicy shades. Jin Xuan Black tea may be brewed for several times, the number depends on the way of making. In a traditional method with rapid pouring, it released to a fifth steeping, and then the tea long keeps the density of infusion and the brightness of flavour, making a durable tea drinking.

This cultivar was not introduced in Taiwan, as Assam, and was not bred artificially, as numbered varieties (for example, “Ruby № 18”). It grows wild and cultivates on the plantations of Sun Moon Lake region.
